Professor Nancy Mbaka.
My focus in research is in the field of Applied Linguistics which is a branch of Linguistics used to refer to the application and improvement of language teaching, language learning, planning, management of language handicap, communication in bilingual and multilingual situations, translation and interpretation, lexicography, forensic and contact linguistics. I am interested in application of language theories to the language situations in Africa with the aim of describing African languages and language situations. An inherent aspect of any development is the language component. It is my goal to contribute to knowledge with a view to influencing policies on language practice and use for community development.
