Hand-on Training: Basic Statistical Analysis using Qualtics and AI
Facilitator: Prof. Dennis Muriithi, PhD
Abstract
Qualtrics is a powerful platform for designing surveys and analyzing data, making it an essential tool for researchers, professionals, and academics. The integration of Qualtrics and artificial intelligence (AI) offers a transformative approach to survey design and data analysis, enabling more efficient and insightful outcomes. This course, Basic Statistical Analysis Using Qualtrics and AI, provides a comprehensive introduction to leveraging these tools for statistical analysis. Starting with the fundamentals, learners will explore Qualtrics' capabilities for survey creation, data collection, and descriptive statistics, including measures of central tendency and variability. The course then introduces AI-powered tools, such as Qualtrics Stats iQ, to automate and enhance data analysis, enabling advanced techniques like regression analysis, factor analysis, and ANOVA. Learners will also gain hands-on experience in using AI for predictive analytics, real-time data tracking, and generating actionable insights. Emphasis is placed on practical applications, with exercises and case studies to reinforce learning. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to design surveys, analyze data, and interpret results using Qualtrics and AI, while adhering to ethical considerations and best practices in data visualization and reporting. This course is ideal for beginners and professionals seeking to harness the power of Qualtrics and AI for advanced statistical analysis in research, business, and academia.
Overview of Qualtrics
Qualtrics is an online survey and data collection platform that allows users to:
- Create, design, and distribute surveys
- Collect responses
- Analyze response data
- Use specialized AI to uncover insights from data
- Prioritize actions that drive results
- Improve customer and employee experience outcomes
Qualtrics is used by Universities for teaching, learning, and research as well as Businesses to attract customers, engage employees, and develop products. Qualtrics offers a variety of tools to perform basic statistical analysis directly within the platform such as;
Descriptive Statistics: Calculate basic metrics (mean, median, mode, and standard deviation) for survey data.
Cross-tabulation: Analyze how responses to one question vary by different demographics or categories.
Visualization Tools: Generate charts and graphs to represent data, making it easy to visualize trends or patterns.
Text Analysis: For open-ended responses, Qualtrics provides sentiment analysis and theme identification.
T-Test and ANOVA: Perform hypothesis testing directly within Qualtrics for some datasets. Regression Analysis: Run basic regression models to explore relationships between variables.
